Sunday
morning, up early. We decided yesterday to go back to the campsite for
breakfast! Once in top of the village, we're not disappointed: on one side the
valley. On the other hand, the Himalayas, not totally devoid of clouds, but you
can see more of the major peaks! Beautiful.
After
breakfast, we start walking up a small monastery. An old nun receives us and
wraps around the neck a prayer supposed to bring us luck for 3 years. She does
not speak English, but Tiphaine has learned enough Nepali to interpret! It's
nice. Then the descent, following the ridge line. The village, the view all
around the gardens ... Our heads are constantly turning to take in the beauty
we see!
We sit on
the terrace with a great view of course to enjoy a lassi. The rain begins to
fall slowly. We return to the hotel. Finally, it rains non- stop for two days,
due to the typhoon raging in India. Too bad for walking, but not bad for
relaxing! We go for a stroll anyway, with the umbrella. Tiphaine gossips with a
Nepalese businessman, with a grandpa who just sit on the bench on the porch
with me, the owner of a family hotel ... I am glad to see that people
understand her and vice versa! 2months here and she is already running around
chatting with everyone. In the evening, looking at the pink sunset despite the
clouds and we ordered a bottle of wine in a restaurant. The waiter laughs at
Tiphaine’s jokes in muddy Nepalese- English and suddenly we have a free snack.
A great weekend in a great village.
